J. ROBERT FIREBAUGH

HARRISONBURG, Feb. 1.—J. Robert Firebaugh, sixty, life-long resident and prominent Rockingham county farmer, died at eight o'clock last night at his home four miles southwest of Harrisonburg.

He was a member of one of the oldest and most prominent Rockingham families, having been born and reared in the Mt. Clinton community. He was a brother of the late Dr. T. C. Firebaugh, who at the time of his death was one of Harrisonburg's most outstanding physicians.

Mr. Firebaugh had been in failing health since he fell from a straw rick six months ago while threshing at his farm. He was working on top of the stack at the time of the accident, when he lost his footing and fell more than twenty feet to the ground breaking his back. He remained in a hospital for several weeks following the accident, but was later removed to his home, where he gradually grew weaker until the end.

Funeral services will be held from the home Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. D. L. Beard, of the Dayton Presbyterian church, of which he had been a consistent and devout member. Interment will be in Woodbine cemetery.

He is survived by his widow who before marriage was Miss Selia Rogers, and the following children: Mrs. J. Marshall Kunkle, of Staunton; James Firebaugh, of Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. Harry Kaylor, of Mr. Crawford, and Miss Mildred Firebaugh, at home. He also leaves four grandchildren; one brother, Michael Firebaugh, of Dayton, and one sister, Mrs. Lulu Ralson, of Mt. Clinton.
