CAYUGA — Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Berniece Samuels, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Samuels, of Silver Island, to Max Foster of Cayuga. THe wedding took place Sunday at the home of Rev. O. W. McGaughey of Veedersburg. They were attended by Miss Elaine Fern Samuels and Doyne McMasters of Rantoul. Both Mr. and Mrs. Foster were graduated from the local school with the class of 1934. They will live in Cayuga where Mr. Foster is employed at the L. F. Fultz grocery store.
Cayuga, Ind. - Berniece S. Foster, 96, of Cayuga, passed away at 8:20 p.m. EDT Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Rockville Nursing and Rehab Center in Rockville, Indiana. She was born August 27, 1916 in Silver Island, Indiana, the daughter of the late Louis N. and Nora E. Randolph Samuels. She married Max B. Foster of August 7, 1938 in Veedersburg, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2002. Survivors include six grandchildren, James Foster of Rockville, Indiana; Michael Foster of Cayuga, Indiana; Deborah Summers of Veedersburg, Indiana; Myra Foster of Kingman, Indiana; Cheryl Duez of Georgetown, Illinois and Shelly Harrison of Perrysville, Indiana; seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two son's, Merrill B. Foster and Myron S. Foster and two sisters. Berniece was a member of the Cayuga Christian Church since 1943. She was a 1934 graduate of Cayuga High School. Berniece formerly worked at the Grab It store in Cayuga for seventeen years. She was very active with the Cayuga Alumni Association, church and school activities. Berniece enjoyed cooking and crocheting. Funeral services 12 Noon EDT Friday, September 7, 2012 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Scott Randolph; Burial: Silver Island Cemetery in rural Kingman, Indiana; Visitation: 10 a.m. EDT Friday, September 7, 2012 until time of services at the funeral home.
