Obituary.

"None knew her but to love her."
"None named her but to praise."

Cora Richardson, wife of Chas. E. Richardson was born in Eugene township Dec. 29, 1866 and was the only child of William and Sarah Richardson, the latter now deceased; and died at her home in this city Wednesday evening May 21, 1919, at 7:40 at the age of 52 yrs. 4 mo. and 22 days. She had suffered with a sore foot and Brights disease for the past four years but was able to be up and walk to her daughters, a short distance away, until Sunday morning when she took suddenly worse with a severe pain in her side, and after talking to her children on Monday and knowing them at times early Tuesday morning she gradually fell asleep, not seeming to suffer any pain whatever until Wednesday evening when she breathed her last.

Telegrams were immediately dispatched early in the week to the son in Kansas and to Miss Zoe, who was attending Cornell University in Ithaca N.Y. and they both started for their mothers bedside at once, and met in Terre Haute and arrived in Cayuga Thursday evening only to find that in their race with Death they had lost.

The deceased had spent all her life with the exception of one year, which was spent in Kansas, in this community. She was married on August 1, 1887 to Chas E. Richardson and to this union was born five children, May the oldest child, dying at the age of 6 yrs. Walter W. Richardson, the only son has resided in Kansas for the past year. Mrs. Blanche Richardson-Foster resides in Cayuga not far from the old home. Miss Zoe Louise, a teacher in the High School and Miss Fay, age 19, at home. Besides the husband and four children she leaves to mourn, an aged father, and six little grand children— Alma, Charlotte and Foris Richardson, of Greensburg, Kansas, and Marvin, Max and Thomas Winston Foster of Cayuga.

The floral offerings were many and beautiful. THe funeral was conducted by G. L. Watson at the home Sunday afternoon at three o'clock. Among the songs were "At The End of a Perfect Day", sung by Mrs. Hoover and Miss Hosford with Mrs. Laughlin at the piano. It being Mrs. Richardson's request that it be one of the selections. The pall-bearers were six friends of the family, J. D. Todd, M. R. Coffin, M. P. Hoover, W. T. Coffin, G. H. Fable and A. E. Van Houtin. The flower girls were the members of Miss Zoe's Sunday School Class. Burial was made in the Richardson plot at the Thomas cemetery, by the side of the little daughter and mother. A precious one gone from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled; a chair now vacant in our home which never can be filled.

"Whom the Gods Love die Young."

Little May Richardson, the six-year old daughter of Chas. Richardson and wife, was called from home and friends on Tuesday last. Poor little May suffered for nearly four weeks from inflammatory rheumatism. Although in school but two months she had won the love of all her playfellows, and while she was suffering, the interest of all the children grew to anxiety and dread and her death was a shock and sorrow to all. The school gave a beautify wreath of flowers and the teachers acted as pall-bearers.

"None knew her but to love her.

None named her but to praise."
