The death of Miss Edith D. Foy, a life-long resident of East Randolph, occurred at Salamanca Hospital Tuesday evening about 6:30 o'clock. Miss Foy had been in failing health for a number of years, having been cared for in her home in Williams Street until about ten days ago when she was taken to Salamanca Hospital for observation and treatment. An operation was deemed necessary to relieve her suffering, and she went into surgery Tuesday morning, and it is understood never rallied from the operation.

Edith D., the daughter of Ara and Claire Hall Foy, was born in East Randolph July 9, 1868. She received her education in the local schools and Chamberlain Institute. She was a home-loving person and applied her talents in beautifying her home and its surroundings. Surviving members of her family are a brother, J. H. Foy, of East Orange, N. J.; one nephew, Glenn C. Foy of Salamanca; two grandnephews, Pvt. J. Vall Foy, Camp Carson, Colo., and P. F. C. Louis C. Foy, Camp Atterbury, Ind.

It has been arranged to conduct funeral services from the late home in Williams Street, this (Friday) afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. Edgar T. Pancoast of St. Mary's Church, Salamanca, to officiate.
