Mary B. "Betty" Gibbs of York died of natural causes at 3 a.m. Aug. 10 at ManorCare, Dallastown. She was 77.
Dr. Gibbs was an immunochemist for Walter Reed Institute of Research, Washington, D.C.
She served in the Army during World War II.
Born in Spring Grove Dec. 27, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Kathryn Hoke Gibbs.
She leaves two daughters, Kathryn A. Kirk of Oxford, Conn., and Deborah L. Kirk of York; a sister, Jean Gibbs-Grove of York; a brother, George Gibbs of York; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place with the Burg Funeral Home Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion.
