Nashville, March 15.—Mrs. Ella Amanda Hoke, wife of George Hoke, a well known merchant, of this place, died as 12:30 o'clock yesterday morning after suffering for a period of one week with pneumonia. Mrs. Hoke took sick suddenly last Thursday. She was 53 years, eight months and thirteen days old. She had been a resident of this village for the past 27 years. She was a member of the Reformed congregation at Wolf's union church, Jackson township. Surviving are her husband, four sons and two daughters, Paul, Harry, Samuel, Philip, Elizabeth and Katie, all at home. One brother, Eli Stambaugh, Thomasville, and three sisters, Mrs. John Martin, Mrs. Daniel Baker, Thomasville and Mrs. David Brenneman, Botts station, also survive. The funeral will be held from the Hoke residence at Nashville on Sunday afternoon. Brief services will be held at the house at 1 o'clock, after which the funeral party will proceed to Wolf's church, where further services will be held. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Dr. O. P. Schellhamer, York, pastor of the Reformed congregation of that church, will officiate.

George Hoke, who conducted a general merchandise store at Nashville for more than a half century, died at 9:25 o'clock last night at his home at that place. his death was caused by a complication of diseases from which he had suffered for more than a year. He was 75 years old. Mr. Hoke's wife died about 18 years ago. He leaves four sons and two daughters, Paul Hoke, York; Harry W. Hoke, Spring Grove; Mrs. Ivan Slagle and Samuel Hoke, York; Mrs. Kathryn Gibbs and G. Philip Hoke, at home; a brother, Dr. Martin Hoke, Spring Grove, and two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Bentzel, Nashville, and Mrs. Peter Bott, Dover. The body was removed to the funeral home of Carl H. Shaffer, Spring Grove. Mr. Hoke was well known in York county. He served for many years as chorister of Wolf's church choir. He was a member of Wolf's Reformed congregation during his entire life time.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday with brief services at the home at 2 p. m. and further services in Wolf's Union church. The Rev. E. V. Strausbaugh, pastor of the Paradise Reformed charge, will officiate. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church. The body may be viewed at the Hoke home after Tuesday noon.
