At the Warsaw Presbyterian church, Warsaw, at 3:30 p. m., May 3, Elizabeth Thompson will become the bride of Rev. A. C. E. Gillander.
Miss Thompson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Thompson, of Warsaw. She has been secretary to the Director of Christian Education of the Presbyterian synod of Indiana, working in the Indianapolis office of the synod. Mr. Gillander is the pastor of the Kingston and Union Presbyterian churches in this county. He is the son of Mrs. Margaret Gillander, of Pittsburgh, Pa.

"Miss Elizabeth Rowena Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Thompson, of 414 South Washington street, was wed to the Rev. A. C. E. Gillander, of Kingston, son of Mrs. Margaret Gillander, of Pittsburgh, Pa., at 3:30 p. m. today in the First Presbyterian church. Dr. A. W. Raabe, local pastor, was assisted by Dr. R. J. McLanders, of Indianapolis.
"Charles Metz, of near Greensburg, and Miss Ruth Igo, of Indianapolis, attended the couple. Ruth Jean Elliott, of Warsaw, and Patrick Kauffman, of Goshen, formerly of Warsaw, niece and nephew of the bride, acted as flower girl and boy. Ushers were the Rev. Franklin Bruce of Alexandria, Wayne Hamer and Lain Tetrick, of Greensburg.
"Mrs. Raabe presided at the organ and also accompanied Mrs. Robert Tanner, of Plymouth, cousin of the bride. They rendered organ and violin selections of 'Ave Maria,' 'At Dawning' and 'Oh Promise Me.' Mrs. F. C. Olds sang 'Ich Liebe Dich,' 'Beloved It Is Morn' and 'Oh Perfect Love.'
"The bride was attired in white chiffon over satin, full length. The neckline was cut sweetheart fashion, the bodice was shirred and skirt full. A tiara of orange blossoms topped a three-quarters length illusion lace veil and she carried white snapdragons and roses.
"Miss Igo, maid of honor, wore pink floor length organdy trimmed with pink lace and carried a bouquet of white snapdragons and pink roses. Ruth Jean wore pink taffeta and net, floor length, and young Patrick wore a white satin suit. Mrs. Thompson, mother of the bride, was dressed in bember sheer rayon print with violet and white accessories. Her corsage was of white roses.
"The bride graduated from Warsaw high school and is a member of Delta Theta Tau and Daughters of the American Revolution. Rev. Gillander graduated from Pittsburg high school, Maryville College in Tennessee and McCormack Seminary in Chicago. He is pastor of the Kingston and Union churches near Greensburg.
"A reception followed in the Thompson home for out of town guests and members of the family. The couple left immediately afterwards on a trip through the east, the bride traveling in brown silk print jersey with brown accessories. They will reside in the Kingston manse six miles from Greensburg.
"Among the out of town guests were Dr. and Mrs. R. J. McLanders, Dr. and Mrs. A. E. Sharp, Rev. and Mrs. Benjamin B. Andrews. Miss Elizabeth Taft, of Indianapolis, Dorothy, Ruth and Lain Tetrick, Howard Richardson, Paul Humphrey, Miss Charlotte Metz, Charles Metz, Wayne Hamer, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Springmier, Helen and Rachel Springmier and Miss Julia Huber."

The Rev. Alexander Gillander, former executive secretary of the Howard County Council of Churches, was a visitor here Tuesday.
He is now on the faculty of Tusculum College at Greeneville, Tenn. where he teaches German and French.
Mr. Gillander held the post for six and one-half years. He came here in 1954 from Indianapolis where he was pastor of the Sutherland Presbyterian Church. He resigned from the Howard County post in 1958.

The Rev. Alexander Gillander, former executive secretary of the Howard County Council of Churches, and Mrs.. Gillander have resigned their positions in Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tenn., and are moving to Greenback, Tenn.
Mr. Gillander is the new pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church in Greenback.
Prior to the move to that community, he was assistant professor of modern languages in Tusculum and Mrs. Gillander has been an assistant on the staff of the college library.
Their son, Bruce, is a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in England, and a daughter, Marybeth, has just completed her second year at Maryville College.
Mr. Gillander was a member of the Greeneville Rotary Club. He is a chaplain in the U.S. Army Reserve and will be on a tour of summer training June 11-26. He was secretary of the county church council here from August, 1954, to July, 1958.

The approaching marriage of their daughter Mary Elizabeth and the return of their son, Capt. Bruce Gillander, from a long tour of duty overseas have been announced by the Rev. and Mrs. Alexander Gillander.
Mr. Gillander, now pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church, Greenback. Tenn., was executive secretary of the Howard County Council of Churches from July, 1954 to August, 1958.
Miss Gillander will be married July 12 to Parker Bruce Cliff of Knoxville, Tenn. He was graduated this month from Maryville College.
Capt. Gillander returned to the United States after 35 months of foreign service. He served in Germany and France, and mainly as a commander of ground troops at Chicksands Air Force Base near Bedford, England.
The captain attended Kokomo High School his first two years and was graduated from Greeneville High School, Greeneville, Tenn. in 1960. He also attended Grove City College in Pennsylvania. He is married and the father of a two-month-old daughter.

Funeral services for the Rev Alexander Gillander, 74, of 4740 Dauphine Blvd., Tallahassee, Fla., were held Sunday in Faith Presbyterian Church, Tallahassee.
Death of heart ailment occurred Feb. 26 in Memorial Hospital, Tallahassee.
The deceased, husband of the former Elizabeth Thompson, of Warsaw, was a retired Presbyterian minister and well-known in this community.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; a son, Bruce Gillander, of Tallahassee; and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Beth Mixon, of Jacksonville, Fla.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Elizabeth T. Gillander, 80, Tallahassee, died June 2, 1991, in Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center.
The Warsaw native moved to Tallahassee 17 years ago. She had been a librarian at Maryville college. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a 15-year member of Faith Presbyterian Church and a charter member of Christ Presbyterian Church. She was a member and officer of Presbyterian Women's Organization.
Survivors include one son, Bruce Gillander, Tallahassee; one daughter, Mary Hawley, Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, and one sister, Edna Evers, Warsaw.
Services at 2 p.m. Wednesday will be in Christ Presbyterian Church, Tallahassee, with burial in the MeadowWood Memorial Park.
Calling is from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Culey's MeadowWood Timberland Road Chapel.
