Thompson

Herbert Thompson, 81 years old, a Warsaw fire chief and a former painting contractor, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Glenn Evers, early this morning.

Mr. Thompson had been in failing health for some time. He had lived in Warsaw for the past 55 years. He resided at 414 South Washington street until eight years ago when he moved to his daughter's home on Route 5.

He was born in Richmond, Ind., April 9, 1877 the son of William and Ida L. (Chapman) Thompson. He married Harriet Cleveland who preceded him in death. He was a member of the Presbyterian church in Warsaw.

Also surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Gillander, of Kokomo, and Mrs. Herbert Kaufman, of White Pigeon, Mich.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 3 p. m. in the L. J. Bibler and Son funeral home. Rev. E. C. McCance will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Thursday evening until the time of service.
