Dearest darling thou has left us,
And thy loss we deeply feel
But 'tis God who hath bereft us
He can all our sorrows heal.
Our darling has crossed the cold silent river,
THe angel of death bore him home
And he will wait at the beautiful gate
To welcome you when you come.
