AN AGED RESIDENT PASSED SUDDENLY

Mrs. Maria Hall Moss Died Wednesday Night.

DEATH FOUND HER IN A CHAIR

Where She had Settled Down for a Quiet, Homey Evening.

Had Lived many Years in East Randolph.

The people of this village were shocked when it was noised about Thursday morning that Mrs. Maria Hall Moss had died very suddenlty about 8:30 the night before while sitting in her chair eating popcorn. She suffered a stroke of apoplexy about 5 years ago from which she had never fully recovered, but was to all appearances feeling as well, if not better, on Wednesday evening than usual. She had conversed cheerfully throughout the evening with her children and passed away without a word.

Deceased was born in Bloomfield, N. Y., March 9, 1819, and was a daughter of Horace Hall, Sr. She was twice married. Her first husband's name was McCollister, by whom she had five children, three boys and two girls: Mark McCollister now of Bradford, William, who died many years ago, and Leonard, who has remained at home with her; Mrs. Flora Kerr of Gowanda and Mrs. D. S. Crawford, who has devoted the past four year to the constant care of her mother.

Mrs. Moss moved to her present home on Church street 28 years ago soon after the death of her second husband, Mr. Moss; and by her kindly deeds and pleasing personailty has won for herself the love and esteem of a large circle of friends. The funeral will be held from the home at 2 p. m. Saturday, Rev. T. B. Cooper officiating.
