IDA P. HAMMOND DEAD AT LOGAN

LOGAN, April 18.—Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Pitkin Hammond, 58, wife of Estas N. Hammond, Sr., who died at the family residence, 143 South Second West street, will be held from the First war chapel Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the Logan cemetery.

Mrs. Hammond was born in Millville, October 20, 1864, and was the daughter of George C. and Maria Wood Pitkin. Since her marriage to Estus N. Hammond she had resided in Millville, Providence, and for the past fourteen years in Logan. She was active in Mormon church affairs, and was a member of the presidency of the Relife society and held an office in the Young Ladies' Mutual Improvement association during the time that she and her husband resided in Providence.

Since coming to Logan Mrs. Hammond had been an active worker in the Relief society and other church organizations in the community. Her husband, Estus N. Hammond, is at present a member of te bishopric of the Logan First ward. Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Estus N. Hammond, Jr., of Logan, Mrs. R. L. Maxwell of St. Anthony, Idaho; Mrs. John L. Coburn, Floyd Hammond, Cyril Hammond and Grant P. Hammond, all of Logan.

Final Tribute Is Paid to Mrs. Ida Pitkin Hammond

LOGAN, April 20.—Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Pitkin Hammond were held in the First ward chapel yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Bishop William Worley presiding. The ward choir sang several selections, following which F. H. Baugh, Sr., and F. H. Baugh, Jr., sang a duet and Miss Margaret Worley gave a solo. The speakers were N. W. Kimball, a friend of the family for forty years, W. R. Sloan, Bishop N. W. Merkley, Bishop William Worley and Moses Thatcher.

The pallbearers were James A. Hovey, Eugene Johnson, N. A. Larson, W. K. Burnham, J. H. Wilson, brothers-in-law, and W. W. Pitkin, a brother.

E. N. Hammond, Retired Rancher, Dies at Logan

LOGAN—E. N. Hammond Sr., 70, retired rancher, counselor in the First ward bishopric and officiator in the Logan temple, died Wednesday night at the family home, 143 South Second West street.

Mr. Hammond was born December 14, 1860, in Providence, a son of Milton B. and Lavisa Miller Hammond. He married Ida Pitkin in 1884. She died in 1923.

He spent the greater part of his life in ranching, retiring and moving here in 1909.

Six children survive, E. N. and F. A. Hammond, Salt Lake; Mrs. Izie Maxwell, St. Anthony, Idaho; Mrs. John L. Coburn, Logan; O. C. Hammond, Ogden; E. P. Coburn, of Rock Springs, Wyo.; five brothers and sisters: J. T. Hammond, Salt Lake; Horace Hammond, Providence; Mrs. Lovisa Allen, Hyrum; Mrs. Zina Brown, Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Minnie Allen, Provo; also eight grandchildren.

LOGAN—Funeral services for E. N. Hammond Sr., who died Wednesday night, will be held Saturday at 1 p. m. in the First ward chapel. The remains may be viewed at the home of John L. Coburn, 143 South Second West street, Saturday until time of the funeral.
