Mrs. Adelle Harmon Died Saturday at Old Orchard Beach

Mrs. Adelle F. Harmon, 83, wife of former Postmaster William G. Harmon, died at her home, 27 Atlantic avenue, at Old Orchard Beach, Saturday, after a long sickness. She was born in Cold Springs, N. Y., in 1852, the daughter of Frank C. and Harriet H. Howe.

She was married to Mr. Harmon 60 years ago last May. She was a member of the auxiliary of C. Fayette Staples post, A. L., of Old Orchard Beach. She had many friends among the older residents of the resort who learned with sorrow of her death.

Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, F. Glen Harmon, W. Warren Harmon and Clifton H. Harmon, and five grandchildren, all of Old Orchard Beach; also two sisters, Mrs. James Robinson of Cochranton, Penn., and Mrs. Fred L. Larkin, Jr., of Randolph, N. Y.

The funeral will be held at her home at 21 Atlantic avenue, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

W. G. HARMON DEAD AT BEACH

Prominent in Business and Political Life at Old Orchard

William G. Harmon, 82, former postmaster at Old Orchard Beach, founder of the Harmon Realty Co., in 1906, widely-known resident and conspicuous in many activities at the resort, where he had lived for many years, died at his home, 21 Atlantic avenue, this morning, after a long illness.

He was born March 12, 1854, in Bucksport, the son of Abner W. and Lydia Briggs Harmon.

Mr. Harmon was engaged in the real estate business with Wm. Davis under the name of Harmon and Davis.

He was prominent for years in the Democratic party serving as chairman of the Democratic town committee, and was also elected as a member of the board of selectmen of the resort. He served as postmaster under the last Democratic administration. Mr. Harmon was known and held in high esteem by a large circle of friends in Old Orchard Beach and vicinity.

He leaves three sons, Warren, Clinton and Glenn Harmon.

Funeral services will be held at the Quinby Funeral Home, 89 School street, Saco, at 2:30 Friday afternoon.

Service for Wiliam G. Harmon

The funeral of ex-Postmaster William G. Harmon of Old Orchard Beach was held at the Quinby funeral home, 29 School street, Saco, this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The services were attended by relatives and friends from Saco, Old Orchard Beach and other places. Rev. Ward R. Clarke, pastor of the Saco Second Parish Unitarian church officiated. There was a large and beautiful display of flowers.

The bearers were Fire Chief Theodore Mingo, Judge Wesley M. Mewer, Chief of Police Wilbur G. Rumery and Clinton C. Mewer. The burial was at Laurel Hill cemetery where a commital service was held.

The survivors are three sons, several grandchildren, a sister and a niece.
