Mr. and Mrs. Royce Hawk included Abilene in their five-day honeymoon trip, visiting here yesterday where they were guests for luncheon in the W. D. Johnson home and leaving in the afternoon for their home in Vernon. The marriage of Miss Gwendolyn Staley and Mr. Hawk took place last Thursday in the Fort Worth home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Crawford.
The bride wore a blue crepe dress with black patent accessories and corsage of pink rosebuds and lilies of the valley. Mr. and Mrs. Crawford where host for a wedding dinner, presiding at a table laid in Irish lace and centered with an arrangement of white chrysanthemums and rosebuds.
Mrs. Hawk, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Staley, of Vernon, was graduated from the Vernon high school with the class of 1931. For the past two and a half years she has been employed by the City Auto Supply Co. of Vernon.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Hawks, of Dickens, Mr. Hawk formerly made his home here where he was graduated from the high school and for two years did work in Hardin-Simmons university. He is now a resident of Vernon, where he has been employed for the last eight months by the West Texas Utilities Co.

Miss Gwendolyn Staley, of Vernon High School, representing Huber's City Drug Store, won first place in the bathing beauty contest last night at the Vernon Theater, as was determined by applause of the audience and Miss Opal Walker won second place.
Miss Staley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Staley, was unassuming and attractive in her bathing suit of black and white wool. She wore black patent leather pumps and white silk hose.
Miss Opal Walker, winner of first place in the first revue Wednesday night, was awarded second place by applause last evening.
Miss Staley was awarded a $25 silver loving cup and $10 in gold, and Miss Walker was awarded a prize of $10 in gold.
Each of the other 10 contestants was awarded a one month's pass to the Vernon Theater.

COMANCHE — Gwendolyn Staley Hawk, 80, of Lake Brownwood, died Thursday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pendergrass Cemetery in Sidney with the Rev. Richard Hetzel officiating, directed by Comanche Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hawk was born in Vernon, was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church in Abilene.
Survivors include her husband, R.J. Hawk of Lake Brownwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Claudette Hawk of Sidney; a daughter, Mary Ann (Mrs. Tex) Crowell of May; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the V.N.A. Hospice of Brownwood or to Lake Brownwood United Methodist Church.
