Friday night was a time of double celebration at the Hawkins home, 1613 East Broadway, for the daughter, Ruth Lee Hawkins was married and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Hawkins, were celebrating their twenty-second wedding anniversary.
Miss Hawkins became the bride of William Pollard of Effner, Ind., at 9 o'clock. The Rev. S. L. Yoder read a Methodist single ring service. Mrs. Tom Lowry, accompanied on the piano by Dan Erb, sang "At Dawning." The couple and wedding party came downstairs while Mr. Erb rendered "Lohengrin's Wedding March." He played "I Am Thine Own," softly during the quiet little service.
The bride was attended by her sister and Mr. Pollard by Robert Fulton. A stunning brown wool tweed suit with brown accessories were worn by the bride. Her sister was dressed in a black crepe sport dress with matching accessories. The Hawkins home was decorated with fall flowers.
Immediately after the wedding Mr. and Mrs. Pollard left for St. Louis, Mo. They will live at Sheldon, Ill. Mr. Pollard is a junior member of the firm of Hawkins & Pollard and has charge of the yards at Effner. Mr. Pollard is a graduate from Missouri university and the high school at Bowling Green, Mo.
Wedding guests were: Mr. and Mrs. J. Myron Marsh, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lowry and daughter Elizabeth Jane, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Dickson, Walter Closson, Mr. and Mrs. Frank McGaughey, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Murphy, and Elizabeth and Carol Blizard.

Mr. and Mrs. Jackson L. Hawkins, 2727 East Broadway, announce the marriage of their daughter, Ruth Leigh Pollard, to Henry Charles Shoop, also of Logansport, son of Mrs. Maude Shoop, of Burnettsville.
The wedding vows were exchanged in impressive and simple rites at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning at the home of the bride's parents. The Reverend M. L. Robinson, of the Baptist Temple, officiated.
The couple left immediately following the ceremony for a wedding trip to the Smokey Mountains.
They will be at home at 2515 East Broadway after November 5.

Funeral services for Henry C. Shoop, 74, 2410 E. Broadway, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Fisher Funeral Home.
He died at 4:55 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital.
Born June 25, 1904, in White County, he was the son of Charles and Maude Dellinger Shoop. He was married Oct. 30, 1948, in Logansport, to Ruth Hawkins, who survives.
He was a member of the Elks lodge.
Surviving with the wife are one sister, Fern Knight, Rockfield; and one brother, Robin, Houston, Texas.
The Rev. Robert Gearhart officiated the services. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
