Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Cranney of Logan announce the engagement of their daughter Cleo to Ira Parnell Hinckley of Salt Lake. The wedding will take place September 3, in the Salt Lake Temple, and will be followed by a wedding breakfast at the home of the bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. N. Hinkcley, 223 North First West.
Miss Cranney is one of Logan's popular young women. Mr. Hinckley has just returned from Germany, where he has been serving in the army of occupation; he also saw service on the front for many months.

Our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great- grandmother died peacefully at her home on September 30, 2002 after a long life of services to her family and her church. She was Utah's oldest resident at age 111. Cleo and Ira Parnell Hinckley were married September 3, 1919 in the Salt Lake Temple by Elder James E. Talmage with Ira Noble Hinckley and Alvin F. Smith as witnesses. Parnell preceded her in death.
Cleo Cranney Hinckley was born to Willard Duane Cranney and Hattie Woolf Cranney, October 13, 1890 in Logan, Cache County, Utah.
She is survived by her children, Mrs. Eldon A. (Harriet) Eliason, Delta, Utah; Mrs. Bernard N. (Josephine) Milner, Trenton, NJ; Rhoda Hinckley, Bellevue, WA; Mrs. Lincoln (Cleo) Eliason, Deseret, UT; Mrs. Gordon (Dorene) Ewing, Las Cruces, NM; Mrs. Fred (Marjorie) Ebert, Ann Arbor, MI. Preceded in death by sons, Parnell King Hinckley and David Narwyn Hinckley. Her numerous descendants, over 160, remember her with fondness and respect for the exemplary life she lived.
Cleo C. Hinckley graduated with honors in the business department of West High School. She served an 18 month mission (1912-1914) as one of the very first sister missionaries for the LDS Church in Los Angeles. She was correspondence secretary to President Petersen at the Branch Agricultural College, Logan, UT, during World War I. She served on the Granite Stake YWMIA Board and later the Granite Stake Relief Society Board. Cleo was employed as a business secretary, payroll dept. U.S. Government in Sugarhouse. She also taught school in Pinepoint, MN, (1929)
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fairmont Ward, 2465 South 800 East, Salt Lake City. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the ward.
