George William Hoke, son of Mrs. Elsie Hoke, 263 South Belvidere avenue, and Ethel Venelia Rebecca Stebbins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Stebbins, 717 Linden avenue, were married at 6 o'clock last Saturday evening by the Rev. Dr. George S. Sorber at his residence, 714 West King street. The ring ceremony was used. They were attended by Dr. and Mrs. Robert D. David. Those witnessing the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Stebbins, William Stebbins, Dorothy Stebbins, Miss Nellie Harbold, Kenneth Eichelberger, Edward Eichelberger. Mr. and Mrs. Hoke will reside at 829 West Poplar street. The bridegroom is employed at the McKay Chain company and is also a director of the senior gymnastic class at the Y. M. C. A.

George W. Hoke, 76, husband of Ethel Stebbins Hoke, 707 Tioga St., died Monday at his home.
Private services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday with burial to follow in Mount Rose Cemetery. There will be no viewing. The David E. Small Funeral Home, Roosevelt and Madison Avenues, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Church of Christ.
Mr. Hoke was born in York county, son of the late Phares and Elsie Boyer Hoke.
He was formerly employed by Teledyne McKay Co. as a welder. A member of Faith United Church of Christ, Mr. Hoke was also a member of the IOOF Mount Zion Lodge 74, Mount Vernon Encampment 14, and the AARP.
He also is survived by three sisters, Catherine Faircloth, Esther Hoke and Dorothy Moul, all of York; and a brother, Leroy Hoke, Baltimore, Md.
His pastor, the Rev. Dwayne C. Carter, will officiate.

Ethel V.R. Hoke of York died at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday at Rest Haven-York. She was 88.
Mrs. Hoke was a member of Faith United Church of Christ and a former secretary of the church. She was a life member of the Women's Guild of the church.
She was a member of the Salome Rebekah Lodge No. 30. She served with the War Service Auxiliary of the Salvation Army during World War II.
Born in York, Nov. 21, 1905, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Edith Burg Stebbins. She was the wife of the late George W. Hoke.
She leaves two sisters, Doris Fahs, Casa Grande, Ariz., and Gladys Davis, Philadelphia, and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service is at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Mount Rose Cemetery with her associate pastor, the Rev. Charlote Hull Whiting, officiating.
