SILVER WEDDING.

A Pleasant Anniversary at Denmark.

DENMARK, Iowa, December 25.—In December, 1858, MR. J. E. Ingalls and Miss M. J. Houston were united in the holy bonds of matrimony in this place, and after a quarter of a cetnury of happiness and prosperity they celebrated their twenty fifith annviersary of the event, on Saturday evening last, at their residence in Denmark. Mr. Ingalls is one of our leading merchants, and his integrity and uprightness of character have won for him hosts of friends, who seemed rejoiced at this opportunity of manifesting their respect and esteem for him and his lovely and accomplished wife. Of the large number of relatives and friends, who were present at the marriage, some hadd passed "over the river," but a goodly number yet remain, and were present to offer their good wishes and congratulations to the bride and grrom, whose married life has been passed in their midst.

The presents were very handsome, and the presentation speech was made by Col Brackett, to which the host made a most happy and appropriate response.

The supper, which was an elegant repast, was seasoned by much merry chat, and by the revival of many pressing reminscences of by gone days. Taken altogether, it was one of the most enjoyable occasions of the kind ever witnessed in Denmark, and the gusts, one and all, left with the hearty wish that the married pair whose twenty-fifth anniversary had been successfully and pleasantly passed, might find a smooth and easy path through their golden age, and even to their diamond anniversary.
