Word was received last night by relatives here of the death at Burlington, of Mr. Joseph Houston, an early settler east of Denmark. The body will be brought here tomorrow and laid to rest in Denmark cemetery by the side of his wife and child. He is survived by one son, Forest, of Burlington at whose home he passed away and four daughters. Mr. Houston was well up in the 80's and death came as a relief for the past six months he had been confined to his bed. Mr. Houston was one of the men who made our early school and churches possible We do not like to speak of him as dead for the works of his heart and hands lives on with us and will as long as our present form of schools and government shall last.
