Fenton McAllister and Miss Mary Mitchell were married at the home of the bride, at Salina, Kans., Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, with the minister of the Presbyterian church there, officiating. Mrs. McAllister is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Mitchell of Salina, and is a graduate of Kansas State Teachers college at Emporia, and has taught the past two years in the schools at Beloit, Kans.
Mr. McAllister is well known here and is familiarly known as "Mac." He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. McAllister of South Park addition, and is a graduate of the Blackwell high school. He graduated from the Southwestern college at Winfield, Kans., and was also employed for the past two years in the Beloit schools as coach. While "Mac" was in school here he was a popular member of the football squad, and of various other athletics, and he has made a success as coach of his hobby, athletics.
The couple will be at home for the summer at Wichita.

The Southwestern football team motored to Blackwell Friday afternoon, where they were entertained at an elaborate chicken dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. McAllister, parents of Fenton McAllister, a member of the squad.
Mr. McAllister promised the dinner if Southwestern beat Fairmount, and according to the participants it was a real dinner and served perfectly. The Southwestern colors, purple and white, were used in decorating the table. Festoons of crepe papers adorned the electroliers and potted plants encased with purple paper and purple nut cups adorned the table.
Mrs. McAllister was assisted by her daughter, Miss Ruth, Miss Hazel Calvert and Miss Manila Walton.
College songs and yells were enjoyed and just before leaving the table they sang "Alma Mater."
The team members present were: Captain Art Kahler, Ira Madison, Claude Mitchell, Carroll Smith, B. Smith, A. J. Cheatum, Paul Henshaw, George Gardner, Vernon Seaman, Art Seely, Sam Templeton, Bill Harris, Earl Brickey, Stanley Reif, Herschel Cornwell, Bill Clay, Fenton McAllister.
The other Winfield people who attended were: Coach Bates, Hobart Barbour, Prof. John Phillips and son, Royce, Ralph Stuber and Phil Weinrich.

Fenton McAllister, for five years assistant coach, Tuesday accepted the position of athletic director and head football coach at the Blackwell highschool, succeeding C. P. "Commy" Wheeler, who goes to Tulsa Central highschool next year.
The appointment of McAllister was made by the school board at its regular monthly meeting Monday night, but McAllister withheld his acceptance until yesterday.
Like his predecessor, McAllister is a graduate of the local highschool, being awarded his diploma in 1921. He lettered in football at the highschool four years.
McAllister was coached by Harry Huston, new superintendent of schools his first three years here, and the last year by Wheeler, who at that time was coaching his first season at the school from which he graduated. McAllister played halfback throughout his highschool football career.
McAllister was graduated from Southwestern college, Winfield, in 1925, after lettering four years in football at the Kansas school. He played in the backfield and at end while in Southwestern.
Following his graduation from Southwestern, the new mentor coached two years at Beloit, Kans., before coming here as assistant coach.
During his 15 years' connection with highschool and college athletics, McAllister has coached and played all of the major sports—football, basketball, baseball and track and during his five years at the local highschool as teacher and assistant coach, he has taken an active part in other activities of the school as well as athletics.
