KINGSTON, GA., October 29—(Special.)—The social event of the season was the marriage of Miss Ruth Rodgers, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Rodgers, of this city, Wednesday afternoon last at the home of the bride's parents to Dr. Edwin McBryde, of Rockmart, one of the prominent and promising physicians of that section. Responding to invitations, relatives and close friends of the families were present when the minister uttered the words joining the two for life. The bride is one of the most charming and beautiful young women of this section, while the groom, a graduate of the Atlanta School of Medicine, with a postgraduate course in both New York and the Franklin in Philadelphia, is generally considered by the medical men of the state as a promise in medicine. The home, a handsome one as it is, was made decidedly attractive and inviting by the deft fingers of the good mother as she entwined the home-grown flowers for the decorations. Nearly a hundred guests were present and as the bride and groom entered the carriage for the train there was a shower of rice thrown upon them. Mrs. McBryde is a graduate of the Brenau college and was a leader in her classes from her first year to the year of her graduation. Her musical talent has been pronounced remarkable. On the pipe organ she has few equals and more than one was the ovation that came to her. Bright, charming, cultivated and entertaining there are few brides with a brighter, or happier future than she. Dr. McBryde as a large field within which to work and has many stanch friends to support him in the medical fraternity of the state.
