Pvt. Van. B. McClane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerry McClane, New Freedom, and Leora Waltemire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Waltemire, Stewartstown, were married Saturday in New Market, Md., by Rev. Edward Porter, pastor of the New Market Methodist church.
The single-ring ceremony was performed with Mrs. Carletta Blevins, sister of the bride, ad matron of honor, and Charles Blevins, as best man, both of Stewartstown.
The bride wore a two-piece gray suit with brown accessories. She is an employe of the Amb-A-Tip Cigar factory, Stewartstown, and will reside with her parents for the present time.
Pvt. McClane is stationed at Camp Claiborne, La.

STEWARTSTOWN — Glenn B. McClain, 79, of Stewartstown, died at 10:39 a.m. Saturday at his home. He was the husband of Leora B. (Waltemire) McClain.
The service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. Burial will be in Stewartstown Cemetery with full military rites by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing will be noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Mr. McClain was born Oct. 11, 1921, in Tolna. He was the son of the late Gerry and Florence (Geiselman) McClain.
He worked for the Pennsylvania Department of State Highways, retiring in the early 1960s after more than 25 years of service; later, he was a self-employed painter in the Stewartstown area. He was a member of York County Veterans Honor Guard and Stewartstown American Legion Post 455; and attended New Freedom High School.
Mr. McClain is also survived by two sons, Jody E. McClain of New Park and Randy K. McLain of Stewartstown; six daughters, Joan E. Windon of Jacobus, Dianne M. Little, Hope A. Baldwin, Brenda F. Rhoades, Kathleen G. McClain, and Cheryl A. Bankert, all of Stewartstown; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dale "Jack" McClain and John McClain, both of Shrewsbury, and Larry McClain of Brogue; and two sisters, Lois Burwager of New Freedom and Betty Smith of York. Mr. McClain was preceded in death by a son, Ronald D. McClain.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Frank G. Schimming, pastor of Shrewsbury Baptist Church.

Leora B. McClain, 85, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at her home. She was the wife of the late Glenn B. McClain.
Viewing will be 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at J.J. Hartenstein mortuary, Inc. 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. The service will follow at 12 noon at the mortuary with the Rev. Ersel Staples officiating. Burial will be in Stewartstown Cemetery.
Born Jun 4, 1924, Stewartstown, she was the daughter of the late Howard J. and Mary Odella (Flory) Watemire.
Leora had been employed with the former Charles G. Summers Jr., Inc., New Freedom, and the former Stewartstown Sewing Factory and Cigar Factory. She loved sewing, doing crafts, her garden and flowers.
She is survived by six daughters, Joan E. Windon and husband, Frank Sr., of Jacobus, Dianne M. Little and her husband, Butch of Stewartstown, Hope A. Baldwin of Stewartstown, Brenda F. Rhoades and companion Jeff of Stewartstown, Kathleen G. McClain of Stewartstown, and Cheryl A. Bankert and husband, Bill of Stewartstown; two sons, Jody E. McClain of New Park and Randy K. McLain of Stewartstown; a sister, Jess? Thompson of Shrewsbury; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald D. McClain.
