Gerry I. McClain

TOLNA, May 22.—Gerry Ivan McClain, husband of Mrs. Florence Louise Geiselman McClain, died at 6:15 a. m. today at his residence here after a lingering illness. He had been bedfast for the past six months. He was 57 years old. A life-long resident of this place, Mr. McClain was a painter by trade, working throughout York and York county. He was a member of the Reformed congregation of Sadler's Church. He also belonged to the Shrewsbury Fire Company. Besides his widow, he leaves these children, Robert Cecil McClain, New Freedom R. D.; Glenn Burrell McClain, Stewartstown; Richard Dean McClain, New Freedom R. D.; Mrs. Lois Jean Berwager, New Freedom R. D.; John Joseph McClain and Dale Ray McClain, both of Shrewsbury; Betty Louise McClain, Larry Dunnick McClain, Gerry Ivan McClain Jr., Thomas Wayne McClain and Ruth Ann McClain, all at home; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Rhea Elizabeth Keeny, and a brother, Norman S. McClain, both of New Freedom R. D. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hartenstein Mortuary, New Freedom. The Rev. J. E. Gindlesperger, pastor of the Reformed congregation of Sadler's Church will officiate. Interment will be in Shrewsbury Lutheran Cemetery.

Dallastown

Florence L. McClain, formerly of Tolna, New Freedom RD 1, died of natural causes at 6 a.m. yesterday at Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallastown. She was 87.

Mrs. McClain was a member of St. John (Sadler's) Lutheran Church, Stewartstown RD2. She had resided at the nursing home since 1985.

Born in York, she was a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Mary Rose Mann Geiselman and the wife of the late Gerry I. McClain.

She leaves seven sons, Robert C. McClain, Dale R. McClain and Gerry I. McClain, all of Shrewsbury, Glenn B. McClain, Stewartstown RD1, John J. McClain, Delta, and Larry McClain, Brogue RD1; two daughters, Betty Smith and Ruth Krout, both of York; 26 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lenora Rabenstine, York.

Viewing is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. tomorrow at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, 24 Second St., New Freedom. The service is scheduled for 2 p.m. tomorrow at the mortuary, with burial in Shrewsbury Lutheran Cemetery.
