Mrs. Alice Snively Miller, a poet and writer who had made her home here the last twenty-nine years, died today at her home, 3910 Manheim road.
Mrs. Miller became the bride of Mervin T. Miller thirty years ago today. She was a member of the Quill club and treasurer of the National League of American Pen Women.
She leaves besides her husband, a son, Gordon H. Miller, State College, Pa., and three sisters, Mrs. James S. Taylor, Denver, Mrs. James Reynolds, Portland, Ore., and Miss Eunice Snively, Chicago.

Funeral services for Mervin T. Miller, 81 years old, who died Friday night at the home, 3910 Manheim road, will be held at 2 o'clock Monday at the Earp chapel.
Mr. Miller was born in Shelbina, Mo., and had lived here forty-three years. He was a member of the Third Church of Christ, Scientist.
At the time of his death, Mr. Miller was employed as an insurance agent by the Sam L. Casey company, 1320 Walnut street. He had been associated with the company twenty years. Mr. Miller was a member of the Royal league, a fraternal insurance organization.
In 1948, Mr. Miller was the Republican nominee for state senator from the ninth district. He had served as president of the Republican clubs of both the thirteenth and the eighteenth wards. He was a member of the Missouri Republican club.
Mr. Miller leaves his wife, Mrs. Marie Miller, and a daughter, Miss Marilyn Miller, both of the home; a son, Gordon H. Miller, Port Arthur Tex., and a sister, Mrs. Clarence Beck, Arkansas City, Kas.
