Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Florence Divan, Monroe, and David R. Purintun, Monticello, who were married Tuesday in Woodbine, Ill. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Isaac Divan, uncle of the bride.
Mrs. Purintun is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Divan. She is a graduate of Monroe high school and the Green County Normal.
Mr. Purintun, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Purintun, is a graduate of the Monticello high school. He has been working on farms near his home. They will reside on a farm.
Mrs. David (Florence) Purintun, 79, 1405 Manor Drive, Janesville, died Friday, April 8, 1983 at 2 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, Janesville, where she had entered April 4.
She was born in Cadiz Township Feb. 22, 1904, the daughter of Alfred Armstrong and Sarah Etta Reynolds. She was adopted at age 3 by the Charles Divan family. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1921 and Green County Normal. She then taught for a few years at Dutch Hollow Rural School, at New Glarus and at South Wayne. Her marriage to David R. Purintun took place Jan. 4, 1927 in Woodbine, Ill. They farmed in Green, Rock and Walworth counties, then retired and moved to Janesville in 1962.
Survivors include her husband, David, of Janesville; six children, Mrs. Kenneth (Donna) Kundert, Monroe; Duane, Berthoud, Colo.; Milton, R. 1, Evansville; Ronald and Garnett, both of Janesville and Richard of Longmount, Colo.; one brother, George Atkinson, Alma Center, Wis.; nine grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
She was preceded by both parents, four brothers, John, Joe, Pete and Harvey; and two sisters, Marjorie Beck and Sylvia Beck. In 1977, the couple celebrated their 50th anniversary at St. John's church.
Services are Monday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at Stuessy Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred Bachman of St. John's will preside with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.456

JANESVILLE—David R. Purintun, age 85, of 1405 Manor Dr., died Sun., April 17, 1988 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Feb. 4, 1903 in Sylvester Township, the son of Charles Purintun and Katie Sylvester Purintun. On Jan. 4, 1927, he married Florence Ethel Armstrong Divan in Woodbine, IL. They farmed in the Green, Rock and Walworth Counties, he then worked for the Porter for Profit Co.
He is survived by 6 children: Duane of Johnstown, CO, Milton of Evansville, Mrs. Kenneth (Donna) Kundert of Monroe, Ronald, Richard and Garnett all of Janesville; 2 sisters, Ruth Purintun and Florence Purintun both of Madison; 9 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Florence in April 8, 1983; 1 brother, Paul; 1 sister, Helen Bubb.
Funeral services will be Wed., April 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Stuessy Funeral Home, Monroe, WI, with the Paster Lowell Stuessy officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tues. at the Stuessy Funeral Home.
