Fleming-Skinner

Last Tuesday evening at the home of the bride's mother south of town, were married Miss Stella Grace Fleming and Mr. Calvin D. Skinner. Rev. Dr. Fleming of Wichita, an uncle of the bride, performed the ceremony. The bride was attired in rose-colored broadcloth dress, the groom wearing the conventional black. The immediate relatives and a few close friends were present.

The company sat down to an elegant wedding supper, after which the bride and groom went to the U.P. depot to take the train to Beverly, Kan., where they will spend a few days visiting relatives of Mr. Skinner. On returning will go to housekeeping at the depot.

The young people are well known in Solomon. The bride has spent all her life in this city, where she has constantly grown in the estimation of our people. The groom, who is station agent for the Rock Island Railroad Co., is a young business man of ability.

The SENTINEL joins with their multitude of friends in wishing them all the joy that is possible for them.

MAGNOLIA MAN PASSES AWAY

CALVIN SKINNER SUCCUMBS IN SPRING VALLEY; FUNERAL TUESDAY

MAGNOLIA— (Special) —Calvin D. Skinner, 84, retired railroad employe, passed away at 5:10 a.m. today in St. Margaret's hospital at Spring Valley, where he had been a patient since last night. Death was attributed to complications following pneumonia. Mr. Skinner had been ill for two weeks.

Funeral services are tentatively set for 1 p. m. Tuesday at the Dysart funeral chapel in Granville. Rev. G. D. Landes will officiate. The decedent's daughter, Mrs. Gladys Bunting of Magnolia, will accompany the body to Beverly, Kans., where burial will take place.

Born in Beverly April 18, 1870, he was the son of Thomas Everton and Mar (Bing) Skinner and married Grace Fleming at Solomon, Kans., November 8, 1898. His wife preceded him in death in October, 1946.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bunting, with whom he spent the winters, and Mrs. Mildred Ross of Mancos, Colo., where he spent the summer months. Also left are nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
