OUR NEW POSTMASTER

For the first time in sixteen years patrons of the Solomon post office are being handed their mail by a Democrat past master. Geo. W. Lank, who was appointed some weeks ago, received his commission Monday evening and Tuesday morning he was "on the job." And George W. is a pretty good looking pst master—to those unacquainted with him we will state that the accompanying cut is a good likeness of him. Furthermore we believe he will "make good" in every sense of the word. He has lived in this immediate vicinity for many years and is known by practically every man in the county, having been a candidate for a county office at different times. He is capable, obliging and popular with all—Republicans included—so why should he not have a successful term? To Mr. Lank we extend congratulations and trust that he will be fully as popular when he makes his exit as he was when he took the office.
