Born to Carl M. and Clara Hughes Springer in Crawfordsville, she married Nathan Thomas Calhoun Jan. 15, 1938, in Tangent and lived in Crawfordville until moving to Corvallis in 1942. The family moved to Philomath in 1951. She had lived in Arizona the past 28 years.
She was a member of the Wickenburg First Presbyterian Church, Wickenburg Horseman Association and Wickenburg Country Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Nione Bethell of Philomath; sons, Terry Calhoun of Boring; sister, Hyla Carey of Philomath and Clara Putney of Albany; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Carol Bartland and Rosella Powell; and brother, Carl Springer.
A private service was held in Mount Union Cemetery, Philomath.
