Stambaugh—Andrews Wedding

Clair Stambaugh, Dover R. D. 2, and Miss Florence M. Andrews, York Haven, were united in marriage at the Dover Reformed parsonage December 24 at 6: 15 p. m. by the pastor, Rev. R. W. Limbert. The single ring ceremony was used and the couple was unattended.

Mt. Wolf—Pauline Mae Bupp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bupp, 124 South Fourth street, became the bride of Willis Clair Stambaugh, 736 York street, York, son of Willis C. Stambaugh, 131 South West street, York, at 2 p. m. Saturday at Quickel's Union church, Zion View.

The double ring ceremony was performed by the pastor of Quickel's Lutheran charge, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Hoover.

The bride, escorted by her father, was attired in a white linen street-length dress, with white accessories, and she carried a white Bible with white glamelias and ivy and white satin streamers.

Mrs. Romaine Heilman, this place, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore an aqua linen street-length dress, with white accessories and she carried a nosegay of picardy glamellias.

The bride's mother wore an aqua bamburg print dress, with black accessories and an orchid corsage.

Clarence Stambaugh, York, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man. Serving as ushers were Raymond Wintermeyer, brother-in-law of the bride, and John Bupp, brother-in-law of the bride-groom, both of York.

The organist, Margaret Rohrbaugh, Manchester, played "Because," "I Love You Truly," "Dearly Beloved,"" "Indian Love Call," "Ave Maria," "At Dawning," "O Promise Me," "Blest Be The Tie That Binds" and the traditional wedding marches.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the social room of the church.

Mrs. Stambaugh is employed at the South Pine Nightwear company, York, and the bridegroom is employed at the New Cumberland Army depot.

Willis C. Stambaugh

MANCHESTER — Willis Clair Stambaugh, 67, of 19 Loucks St., died Thursday at his home.

He was the husband of Pauline Bupp Stambaugh.

Mr. Stambaugh, born in Dover Township, was the son of the late Willis C. and Minnie Zeigler Stambaugh.

He was a television technician and had been employed by the former Singer Bros. for 20 years before he retired. He was a member of the Emigsville Band, Dallastown American Legion and band and Quickel's Lutheran Church and its choir. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include:

Three sons — Carroll E. Stambaugh, Emigsville; the Rev. Richard A. Stambaugh, Mt. Wolf; and Fred W. Stambaugh, Manchester.

Two daughters — Joan Fitz, Manchester and Judy Nispel, York.

Two stepdaughters — Joyce Gross Murphy, Mt. Wolf, and Kathy Gross Jones, Palmerton.

Seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Three brothers — Clarence Stambaugh, Manchester; Ray Stambaugh, East Prospect; and Harold Stambaugh, Hatboro, Berks county.

Four sisters — Pauline Moul, Evelyn Paules and Dorothy Bupp, all of York, and Mildred Schrum, New Jersey.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Quickel's Lutheran Church, Zion View. The Rev. Larry L. McDaniel will officiate. Burial will be in Quickel's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Home Health Agency of York and York County, 218 E. Market St., York, Pa. 17403.

The L. E. Diehl Funeral Home, 87 S. Main St., Mt. Wolf, is in charge of arrangements.

Pauline M. Stambaugh

MANCHESTER

Pauline M. (Bupp) Stambaugh, 80, died at 3:25 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2004, at the York Lutheran Home Nursing & Rehabilitation at Folkemer Circle. She was the wife of the late W. Clair Stambaugh.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Quickel's Lutheran Church, 60 Canal Road, York, (Zion's View). Viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Quickel's Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Cynthia Chambers from Quickel's Lutheran Church. The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Cemetery Inc. of Mount Wolf has been entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Stambaugh was born July 7, 1923, in York county. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Neiman) Bupp.

She worked as a seamstress from Bernhaven Sewing Factory in Mount Wolf.

She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and Quickel's Lutheran Church in Zion's View.

Mrs. Stambaugh is survived by four daughters, Joyce Murphy of Mount Wolf, Cathy Jones of Orwigsburg, Joan Fitz of Manchester and Judy Rock of Felton; a son, Fred Stambaugh of Mount Wolf; two stepsons, Carroll Stambaugh of Emigsville, and Richard Stambaugh of Manchester; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth Wilderson of Ft. Myers, Fla., Delores Wintermyer of New Oxford, and Romaine Heilman and Phyllis Lauer, both of York.

The family kindly requests the memorial contributions be made to Quickel's Lutheran Church 60 Canal Road, York, PA 17402; or to the York Lutheran Home, 1801 Folkemer Circle, York, Pa 17404.
