Dr. H. F. Starns, Ashland dentist, has received his honorable discharge from the army after 2 1/2 years of service, and arrived home early last week. Mrs. Starns and family remained in Ashland during the time he was in the army.
Dr. Starns, who held the rank of captain, was stationed at the regional hospital in Fort Riley, Kans. during most of the time that he was in in the service. He plans to resume his practice of dentistry at the office located on North 14th street within a few days.
Before going to the army he was located in Ashland for 12 years, and his return will help relieve a critical dental situation in this community. All during the war the entire responsibility was left to Dr. O. H. Ziegenbein, who found it almost impossible to keep up with the demand.
