MISS LILLIAN STANLEY AND MR HARLAND STARNS MARRIED

Miss Lillian Stanley and Mr. Harland Starns of Lincoln surprised their family and friends when they announced their wedding which took place Saturday, Dec. 7, in Fremont. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Stanley. She is a graduate of the Ashland school and has attended the university the past two and a half years. Mr. Starns is a junior in the dental school of the university, and he and his wife will complete their work there as she has only one more year before she finishes. Congratulations from the Gazette on behalf of their many friends here are in order, and the best wishes for a happy married life are extended to them from this office.

Announcements have been received of the marriage on Dec. 7 at Fremont of Miss Lillian Stanley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Stanley of Ashland and Harland Starns of Lincoln. The bride is a graduate of the Ashland high school and for the past two years has been attending the University of Nebraska. Mr. Starns is a junior in the dental collage at the university. Both plan to continue their school work in Lincoln.

DR. H. F. STARNS HAS RECEIVED HIS DISCHARGE

Dr. H. F. Starns, Ashland dentist, has received his honorable discharge from the army after 2 1/2 years of service, and arrived home early last week. Mrs. Starns and family remained in Ashland during the time he was in the army.

Dr. Starns, who held the rank of captain, was stationed at the regional hospital in Fort Riley, Kans. during most of the time that he was in in the service. He plans to resume his practice of dentistry at the office located on North 14th street within a few days.

Before going to the army he was located in Ashland for 12 years, and his return will help relieve a critical dental situation in this community. All during the war the entire responsibility was left to Dr. O. H. Ziegenbein, who found it almost impossible to keep up with the demand.
