Ruth Higbee Dies At Otto

Mrs. Ruth R. Higbee, fifty-five, of Otto, died at her home about 4 a. m. Sunday, after a long illness.

Born in the Town of Mansfield, June 24, 1899, Mrs. Higbee had lived in Otto the past twenty years.

Mrs. Higbee was a member of the Otto Star Chapter, O.E.S., and Otto Home Bureau.

Besides her husband, Sylvester Higbee, she is survived by one son, Orville Higbee, Buffalo; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Ford, Ellicottville; two brothers, Roy Steward of Niagara Falls and Harold Steward of Long Beach, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Herbert Buffum, Little Valley RD, and two grandchildren, James and Ruth Ann Ford, Ellicottville.

The funeral was held this Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Briggs Funeral Home, Cattaraugus, with burial in North Otto Cemetery. The Rev. Claire McElheran of the Eddyville Community Church officiate.

CHARLES W. WATSON

ELLICOTTVILLE — Charles W. Watson, 83, of Maples Road, died Tuesday (Jan. 8, 1974) in Fiddlers Green Manor, Springville, following a year-long illness.

He was born March 25, 1890 in Cattaraugus, a son of Archibald and Rose Grieves Watson. In 1916 he wed the former Ruth Steward, who died in 1955.

Mr. Watson owned and operated a dairy farm and was employed at Empire Wood Products here. He was a member of Eddyville Community Church.

He is survived by a daughter Mrs. Lillian Ford of Ellicottville; a grandson and granddaughter and three great-grandsons.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke Funeral Home, 3 Jefferson St., Ellicottville, today and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral and committal services will be conducted there Friday (Jan. 11, 1974) at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Bordenaro, pastor of the Eddyville Community Church, officiating.
