Arthur K. Swanson

Arthur K. Swanson, 56, a Del Ray vineyardist, died last night in a Selma rest home after a long illness.

Swanson operated the ranch where he ws born, at 11037 East Lincoln Avenue. He was a son of the late Ben Swanson, who once owned the Swanson business block in Del Rey, built the telephone office here and at once time controlled the community water system.

Arthur Swanson is survived by his widow, Lelah; two sons, Gerald and Kenneth, both of Del Rey; a sister, Mrs. Alma Fincher of Del Rey; a brother, Elmer of Santa Cruz, and five grandchildren.

The family requests that remembrances be in the form of contributions of the Fresno County branch of the American Cancer Society.

Private funeral services will be held tomorrow in the Shephens Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Belmont Memorial Park.

Lelah May Swanson

Lelah May Swanson of Del Rey died Aug. 25 at her home. She was 82.

A memorial service was held Friday at Belmont Memorial Park, Fresno, with the Rev. Fred Delano officiating.

Mrs. Swanson was a native of Indiana. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are two sons, Gerald W. Swanson and Kenneth L. Swanson, both of Del Rey; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Willin and Son Funeral home, Sanger, directed.
