At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bloomer on Wabash Avenue, Miss Esther Coffman and Carl L. Barley were quietly married. The ceremony was pronounced by Rev. J. F. Porter. Mr. and Mrs. Barley left for the east on a short wedding trip.

The Silver Pheasant sandwich shop, conducted in conjunction with the Silver Pheasant candy store, is now under the management of Carl Barley, where the famous "new merchants' lunch" is served daily with a great variety of especially fine sandwiches, as well as delicious lunches.
During the winter months the Silver Pheasant sandwich shop will close at 8 p.m., but meals or sandwiches may be had in the candy store.

Many friends in Santa Cruz will be sorry to hear that Carl Barley of Los Angeles, formerly of this city, passed away July 1. Three sisters, Mrs. Mabel B. Wilson, Mrs. Inez Barker and Mrs. Lelia Pengelly, all live in Santa Cruz and his wife, Ida, is at the family home in Los Angeles. One daughter, Betty McMillan, lives in Detroit, Mich.
The family lived in Santa Cruz some five years ago, when Mr. Barley had the Silver Pheasant Candy shop (formerly Frazier Lewis shop), corner of Pacific and Soquel avenues.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida E. Barley, 87, a resident of Los Angeles for 50 years, where held today at 2:30 p. m. in Pierce Brothers chapel, 720 West Washington boulevard, followed by inurnment in the Chapel of the Pines. Mrs. Barley was born in Tennessee, and died at her home, 3517 1/2 East Seventh street, on Thursday. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Hill.

Services for Mrs. Esther M. George, 67, a resident of Port Clinton, Ohio, and native of Marion, will be held at 1 p.m. today at 504 W. Third St.
The Rev. J. Thomas Frost will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
Mrs. George died unexpectedly at 5 p.m. Saturday of a heart attack.
She had lived in Port Clinton for the last three and one-half months. She attended Marion schools and was a member of the Methodist Church in South Bend.
Survivors include her husband, Hendry George; one daughter, Mrs. Betty MacMillan, Ferndale, Mich.; one son, Jack Beckwith, San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two step-sons, David and Thomas J. George, Battle Creek; four brothers, William P. and Wade Coffman, both of Saginaw, Lester, Phoenix, Ariz., and Charles, Commerce, Mich., and one sister, Mrs. Grace Platt, Saginaw.
