WALLACE-PICKETT WEDDING

Roy A. Wallace sprang a surprise on his parents and friends when on Saturday afternoon he was married in St. Joseph to Miss Cleta Pickett of Stewartsville. The bride and groom went to Kansas City that evening, remaining until Monday morning. They will be at home for the present at the Wallace home on West Third street.

Mr. Wallace is a son of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Wallace of this city and is identified with the Wallace Motor Co. He is a successful young business man. The bride belongs to one of DeKalb county's prominent families, her parents being Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Pickett. Mr. Pickett is a successful farmer and stock raiser.

Mr. and Mrs. Wallace start their wedded life with cordial well wishes of their many friends.

STEWARTSVILLE NATIVE DIES IN HAWAII

Mrs. Cleata L. Wallace, 76, a former resident of Stewartsville, died Friday, June 1, at a hospital in Honolulu, HI, following a long illness.

A native of Stewartsville, Mrs. Wallace was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dallas P. Pickett, pioneer residents of the area. She was graduated from Stewartsville High School and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Surviving are two sons, Roy Wallace, Cheyenne, WY, and James Wallace, Honolulu; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Gioia, Honolulu, and six grandchildren.
