DALLAS PICKETT DIES

Dallas P. Pickett of Stewartsville passed away Thursday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cleta Wallace in Camdenton, Mo. He was 79 years old and a life-long resident of Stewartsville, where he was a retired farmer and stockman. He was also associated with the First National Bank for many years.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Miriam Pickett, a prominent family of that community. Mr. Pickett had been in ill health for quite awhile.

Besides the daughter at whose home he died, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ollie Pickett and one son Rolla F. Pickett, one brother William E. Pickett, all of Stewartsville, and one sister, Mrs. Dora Shearer, Chillicothe, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the F. G. Lyon funeral home, and burial was in the Stewartsville cemetery.

WELL KNOWN STEWARTSVILLE WOMAN PASSES ON

Mrs. Ollie Frances Pickett, widow of Dallas Pickett who died in 1945, passed away suddenly at 4:10 o'clock this morning at her home in Stewartsville, at the age of 76 years.

Mrs. Pickett, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Everett, deceased was a member of one of our pioneer families, they and the Pickett family both being well-known and respected int Northwest Missouri. Survivors are: a son, Rolla F., who lives on the Pickett home farm, near Stewartsville, a daughter, Mrs. Cleta L. Wallace, also of Stewartsville; four sisters, Mrs. W. E. Pickett, Stewartsville; Mrs. Clara B. Randall, Burton, Wash; Mrs. Pliny T. Snyder, Bellingham, Wash; Mrs. Pam Deering, Saltzburg, Austria; brother, J. R. Everett, Okanogan, Wash; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The body is at the Summerfield-Lyon funeral home in Stewartsville. Due to the fact that the daughter, Mrs. Wallace, is at present in Connecticut, funeral arrangements have not been completed at this time.
