Ashland Gazette, March 7, 191812597
Ashland people were surprised to hear of the marriage of Mr. John Waybright and Miss Hazel Alyea, which took place in Omaha last Saturday. The young people had been very careful to give no information to their friends as to when their marriage would take place, and succeeded in taking them by surprise. The bride's home is in Meadow Grove, Nebr., but she has been a teacher in the Ashland schools for nearly four years, and has been a popular member of the young set ever since she came.
The groom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Waybright, and is a graduate of the Ashland high school. He has attended the agricultural college at the state university and was in his junior year when he enlisted for army service in the aviation department. He expects his call ordering him to report for duty to arrive any day now, and, although he has no definite knowledge as to where he will be stationed, he will probably be sent to a camp in Georgia for training. Mrs. Waybright will continue to teach in the school until the end of the term or until other arrangements can be made. The Gazette extends best wishes and hearty congratulations to this young couple, and wishes them all happiness in the years to come.
