C. T. WILLISTON OF NEWSPAPERS DEAD AT AGE 58

Employee for 40 Years Succumbs Following Brief Illness

Charles T. Williston, 58, of 22 Dell Pl., an employee of The Springfield Newspapers for 40 years, died yesterday at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Springfield, son of the late William C. and Mabel (Tyler) Williston and was educated in the local schools.

World War I Veteran

He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War I and a member of Pst 21, American Legion. He was also a member of the Twenty-Five Year Club of The Springfield Newspapers, a charter member, and usher of Holy Cross Church, and a member of the Holy Name Society.

Most of the years Mr. Williston was associated with the newspapers were spent as a pressman. During the last several years he had been connected with the business office.

He leaves his wife, Mary A. (Murphy) Williston; a son, William C. of Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. James L. Hall of Lawrence, Kan.; a brother, George S. WIlliston of Nixon, N. J.; three sisters, Mrs. Paul L. Wood of Ludlow, and the Misses Alice L. and Eunice A. Williston of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Wednesday

The funeral will be held at the Belmont Ave. parlors of the T. P. Sampson Co. Wednesday morning at 8 with a solemn high mass of requiem at 9 at Holy Cross Church. Burial will be in the family lot at St. Michael's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p. m. today and Tuesday.

The combined membership of the Holy Name Society and the Women's Club of Holy Cross Church will meet Tuesday at 8 at the funeral home to recite the rosary.

Williston, of Burmingham, and Joan Hall, of Cincinnati, Ohio. Grandmother of 8. Graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Michael's Cemetery, St. Rose section. Visiting hours are 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. from the T.P. Sampson Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tickham Road.
