ROBERT EARNEST ZEIGLER was born September 19, 1902,⁶¹³ and died March 3, 1982 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan.⁶¹³ He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, LaGrange, Indiana.⁴⁵⁶

He married LURA ANNA ROWE on May 8, 1927,⁴⁰⁴⁷ daughter of ANNA M. BALLOU and LAORA M. ROWE. She was born October 30, 1889 in LaGrange County, Indiana,¹¹⁸⁶ and died December 18, 1978 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan.⁶¹³ She is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, LaGrange, Indiana.⁴⁵⁶

Miss Lura Rowe entertained at a 6:30 dinner Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Clifford Cunningham at 1225 South Twenty-first street, at which she announced that her marriage to R. Ernest Ziegler will take place on Sunday, out of the city. The twelve guests were seated at one table which was attractive with decorations in the pastel shades. The announcement was made on little cards attached to bells in corsages which were the favors.

Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Zeigler are entertaining at a garden party Monday evening at their home, 900 Elmwood avenue, honoring their niece, Beverly Spangenberg, of Sturgis, Mich. The garden will be illuminated by flood lights and Japanese lanterns. An eighteen hole crochet golf has been planned for the evening.

R. Earnest Zeigler; Was YMCA Executive

R. Earnest Zeigler, 79, a retired executive secretary of the YMCA Foundation in Detroit, died Wednesday at his home in Detroit.

He had worked with the YMCA for 60 years, 27 of them in the Detroit area.

Mr. Zeigler was a life member of the Detroit Commandry No. 1, Knights Templar, and a member of the Blue Lodge, F & AM, the Clinton Chapter of the Royal Arch Masons and Imperial Lodge No. 269 of Iowa. He was also a member of the Redford United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Redford United Methodist Church, 22400 Grand River. Burial will be Monday in Lagrange, Ind.

Memorials may be sent to the D. B. Zeigler Student Loan Foundation, Soutwestern College, Winfield.
