At a double wedding ceremony which took place yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in Trinity Reformed church, York street, Miss Geraldine Louise Hoffman and her sister, Miss Margaret Irene Hoffman, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Hoffman, 256 Frederick street, became the brides respectively of Robert Eugene Hirt, Silver Spring, Md., son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hirt, 52 McAllister street, and Harold Edmund Little, Oaks, Pa., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond A. Little, 536 Broadway. THe double ring ceremony of the Reformed church was performed by the pastor, the Rev. Howard E. Sheely, and the pastor emeritus, the Rev. Dr. Marsby J. Roth, in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends of the couples.
The church was attractively decorated for the occasion with palms, ferns and baskets of cut flowers. Preceding the ceremony while the guests were assembling, Harold R. Frantz, organist of Trinity church, presented a fifteen-minute recital. Mr. Frantz also played the wedding marches, using the "Bridal Chorus" from "Lohengrin" by Wagner as the processional, and "wedding March" from "Midsummer Night's Dream" by Mendelssohn, as the recessional.
Miss Geraldine Hoffman was attended by her sister, Mrs. John S. Hollinger, Hanover, as matron of honor, and Mrs. George E. Myers, Westminster, Md., as bridesmaid. Mr. Hirt had for his best man Martin Keller, Carlisle. Miss Margaret Hoffman was attended by another sister, Mrs. Robert J. Miller, Hanover, as matron of honor, and Miss Yvonne Forney, Hanover, as bridesmaid. Mr. Little had for his best man, his brother, Richard Little, Hanover. Serving as ushers were John S. Hollinger and Robert J. Miller, Hanover, brothers-in-law of the brides, and George E. Myers and John francis Bowers, Westminster.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the brides' parents for the members of the immediate families and a few out-of-town guests. After the reception the two couples left on a wedding trip to points of interest in northern states.
Both the brides and the bridegrooms are graduates of the Eichelberger Senior High school. Mr. Hirt is also a graduate of the Williamson Trade School, near Philadelphia, and Mr. Little attended Gettysburg college for two years.
Upon their return from the wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Hirt will reside at 901 Pershing Drive, Silver Spring, Md., where Mr. Hirt is employed as a machinist by the American Instrument Company. Mr. and Mrs. Little will reside at 606 DeKalb street, Norristown. Mr. Little is employed as a toolmaker by the Synthane Corporation, Oaks, Pa.

GETTYSBURG — Robert E. Hirt, 60, Gettysburg RD 6, died Tuesday at 5:46 p.m. at the Annie Warner Hospital in Gettysburg.
He was the husband of Geraldine L. Hoffman Hirt, Gettysburg RD 6. Born in Hanover, he was a son of the late Joseph Hirt Jr. and Jennie Berkheimer Hirt.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Hanover. He had been a sales engineer for 19 years for R. H. Miller Division of Pennwalt Corp. out of Homer, N. Y.
He was a 1937 graduate of Hanover High School and a graduate of Williamson School in Media, Pa. He was a member of the Hanover Elk Lodge, the International Wire Association, Williamson School Alumni Association and the Hanover Country Club. He was a former council member for the borough of Hanover and a former Boy Scout Explorer troop leader at Trinity Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter, Mrs. Jessica Schleup, Oswega, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Christopher Hoffman Schleup and Jean-Paul Schluep.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial services will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ Friday at 7 p.m. His pastor, the Rev. Carroll C. Luckenbaugh, will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway. Memorial contributions may be sent to Williamson School, Media, Pa. 19063

Gettysburg
Geraldine H. Hirt, 84, of Gettysburg, formerly of Hanover, died 11:05 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, at Gettysburg Hospital. She was the wife of Robert E. Hirt, who died in July 1980.
Born in Hanover on Nov. 27, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Irene Stauffer Hoffman.
Mrs. Hirt was a member of the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, a life member of the Gettysburg Library, a life member and former board member of the Hanover Hospital Auxiliary and a former board member and secretary of the Hanover Visiting Nurse Association. A senior Girl Scout Leader for 10 years,
she led Hanover Troop 718 "Across The Sea in 63." She was also an avid bridge player.
Mrs. Hirt graduated from Eichelberger High School with the class of 1937.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Hirt and Michael P. Canale of Renshaw Bay, N.Y.; two grandsons and their wives, Christoper Hoffman and Anh Schluep of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Jean-Paul and Farnaz Schluep of Paris, France.
Preceding her in death were her sisters, Gertrude Hollinger, Mary Miller and Margaret Little.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, 208 Baltimore St., Gettysburg. There will be no viewing. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Daniel T. Hans, will officiate. Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association.
