WEDDING IS HELD AT ST. MATTHEW'S

Miss Mary P. Hoffman Becomes Bride Of Robert J. Miller—Off On Trip To Adirondacks

Miss Mary P. Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Hoffman, 256 Frederick street, and Robert J. Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul B. Miller, 312 Baer avenue, were married this afternoon at 4 o'clock in St. Matthew's Lutheran church, West Chestnut and North Franklin streets.

The single ring ceremony of the Lutheran church was performed by the pastor, the Rev. Dr. Harry Hursh Beidleman, in the presence of relatives and friends of the couple. They were unattended. The bride was attired in a wool suit of soldier blue with corresponding accessories, and wore a corsage of orchids. Following the ceremony a reception for the immediate families and a few friends was held at the home of the bride's parents, after which the newlyweds left on a wedding trip to the Adirondack Mountains.

Bothe the bride and bridegroom are graduates of the Hanover High school. The bridegroom is employed as a salesman by Paul Eischerman. After October 1, Mr. and Mrs. Miller will be at home to their friends at 312 Baer avenue.

Mrs. Robert J. Miller

Mary Hoffman Miller, 59, of 322 Clearview Rd., wife of Robert J. Miller, died Sunday evening at her home.

A native of Hanover, she was the daughter of Harry and Irene Stauffer Hoffman, 256 Frederick St.

She was a 1936 graduate of Hanover High School and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

A patron of the arts, community worker, and patriot, she was an active member of the Girls Scouts of America, the Visiting Nurses Association Board of Directors, the Hanover Area Arts Guild, the YWCA, the Women's Hospital Auxiliary and the Hanover and York Historical Societies.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Christoper G. (Andrea M.) Theisson, rear 315 Broadway; Mrs. Francis C. (Prudence Eline) Keffer, 1168 Summit Dr., Annapolis, Md.; a son, Thomas Miller, at home; and one granddaughter. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Geraldine) Hirt, Gettysburg RD6, and Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Little, 212 Country Club Lane, Carterville, Ill.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, followed by a family graveside service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

The Rev. Dr. Arthur L. Ruths, her pastor will officiate. There will be no viewing.

The family requests that memorial contributions to the Visiting Nurses Association or St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway.

Robert J. Miller

Robert J. Miller, 65, of 322 Clearview Road, died this morning, June 13, 1984, at Hanover General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary P. Hoffman Miller, who died Aug.29, 1978.

Born in Hanover, he was the son of the late Paul B. and Martha A. Ducan Miller.

He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Hanover. He was a broker and owner of Robert J. Miller Real Estate. He was Navy veteran of World War II. He was a 1936 graduate of Hanover High School. He was a member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge, and a past member of the board of directors of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association.

He is survived by two daughters, Prudence Keffer of Hanover RD 3, and Andrea M. Theisson of Biglerville RD 1; a granddaughter; and a brother, Philip Miller of Quakerstown.

Private interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery will be held prior to the memorial services at St. Matthew Lutheran Church Friday at 10 a.m. His pastor, the Rev. Dr. Arthur L. Ruths, will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew or to the Hanover Public Library.

Panebaker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
