GEORGE ROBERT REYNOLDS DEAD

George Robert Reynolds was born in Detroit, Mich., January 16, 1836 and died July 12, 1917 at the age of eighty-one years, five months and twenty-six days. When about thirty years of age he came west as far as Ashland, Neb., where he was united in marriage to Laura Stanley, July 16, 1870. Five children were born to them, Myron, Marion, Ginevra, Eugene and Howard. He resided at Ashland about forty years coming to Bayard eleven years ago. He has been in fairly good health until about two weeks ago when it was thought wise to bring him from his country home to town where the best of medical aid and care could be given him. Hardening of the liver and his advanced age gave little encouragement for his recovery. At times he suffered intensely tho the end came quite suddenly and peacefully at 1:30 p. m. Thursday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Hapgood. He was of a quite and unassuming disposition and holds a large circle of friends all of whom will miss him greatly and offer sympathy to the family who feel more keenly the loss of a father, grandfather and companion.

The only surviving relatives are the immediate family; wife, children and grandchildren.

All extend their sympathy to the members of the family in the loss of a dear husband and father.

SPLENDED MOTHER IS SUDDENLY TAKEN TO BETTER WORLD

Laura Stanley Reynolds Dies at Home of Son—End Comes Unexpectedly.

In the death of Mrs. Reynolds, which occurred at the home of her son, Myron, Sunday, July 1, we see the full ??tation of the scruptural saying: "For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face," and by those who have had the opportunity to know this wonderful wife, ?? mother, and friends can truly rea?? how sure this is to the person whose life has been an inspiration, not only to her own family, but to all who knew her, that she will be rewarded in that better world. Although allotted a longer span of life than most people are permitted, she was remarkably active for one of her age, and until she died was not contented unless doing something to assist others.

Saturday, we understand, she was in town going around as usual. Sunday, the end came very suddenly and without warning. She has gone, but to her children and other relatives and many friends, she will leave memories of a noble woman.

Laura Adelaide Stanley was born in Northfield, Ohio, July 3, 1847, and died at the home of her son at Bayard, Neb., July 1, 1928, at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 28 days.

The summons came very suddenly Sunday at 11:30 p. m., she having been stricken with apoplexy.

Her parents immigrated to easter Nebraska in 1865 where she was later married to Geo. Robert Reynolds on July 12, 1870, and resided at Ashland until about 20 years ago when she came with her family to Bayard.

Laura Stanley Reynolds came of a long race of pioneer ancestry, the Street-Taylor-Halls settled in Massachusettes in the early sixteen hundreds. Her grandparents settled in Ohio in 1806.

She was a woman of extreme nervous energy, having suffered many privations in her pioneer life in both eastern and western Nebraska. She was a member of the Congregational church in Ashland and a hcarter member of the Womans Relief Corps at the same place where many of her days were devoted to the care of sick neighbors, friends and family, sacrificing her health in the efforts.

She is survived by her five children, nine grand-children, two great-grandchildren, one sistern in los Angeles, and one brother in Alliance, Ohio.

Her husband and two grand-children preceded her to the great beyond.
