PONTIAC.—Announcement was made Friday of the marriage of Miss Dorothy Ramsey, daughter of the Louis Ramseys of Pontiac, to Lt. D. G. Rahlfs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gebhart Rahlfs of Dwight.
They were married Feb. 10 at Salt Lake City, Utah. They are now living in Dalhart, Tex.

PONTIAC — Donald G. Rohlfs, 68, of Pontiac, died at 1 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 1990, at Convenant Healthcare Center, Champaign.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac. The Rev. Craig Wagner will officiate.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pontiac. Military rites will be accorded.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born July 28, 1921, in Grundy County, he was the son of Gerhardt and Jennie (Vander Borg) Rohlfs. He married Dorothy Ramsey on Feb. 10, 1944, at Salt Lake City. She survives.
Also surviving are sons Ronald R. Rohlfs of Plainfield, Ill., and Edward Rohlfs of Plainfield, N.J.; two daughters, Judith Diskin of St. Paul, Kansas, and Barbara Cahill of Littleton, Colo; 16 grandchildren; sisters Thelma Ramsey of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Mildred Brierly of Dwight; and a brother, Gerald D. Rohlfs of Le Roy.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
He farmed near Dwight from 1946-1966 and worked for Standard Oil as farm fertilizer plant manager from 1966-1975. He was employed at Pontiac Correctional Center from 197501983, when he retired. A pilot for the Army Air Force in World War II, he flew a B-17 on 36 missions over Germany and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart. He was a member of Pontiac Veterans of Foreign Wars and was past post commander of Dwight VFW.

Dorothy Joan Rohlfs, 92, of St. Paul, Kansas was ushered by angels into Heaven at 8:20 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul. She was born November 12, 1924 in Pontiac, Illinois to parents Louis Ramsey and Myrtle (Street) Ramsey. She married Donald G. Rohlfs, of Dwight, Illinois, in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 10, 1944.
Dorothy is survived by her son Ronald D. Rohlfs and wife Nancy of Plainfield, Illinois; daughter Judith A. Diskin and husband Charles of St. Paul, Kansas; daughter Barbara J. Cahill and husband Joseph of Aurora, Colorado; son Edward E. Rohlfs and wife Janet of Mount Vernon, Illinois; 15 beloved grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and brother Marshal Ramsey and wife Alice of Chenoa, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Rohlfs in 1990, her parents Louis and Myrtle Ramsey and five brothers and five sisters.
Dorothy, who was known as Dode by many, lived a long and fruitful life as a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband were long time residents of rural Dwight and Pontiac, and subsequent to her husband’s death she lived in St. Paul, Kansas for many years. In addition to raising her four children, she worked at the Dwight Reformatory for Women and the Pontiac State Penitentiary.
The family will receive friends at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in St. Paul from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Friday. A second visitation will be at the Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac, Illinois from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Sunday. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, July 10, at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Pontiac.
