Another beautiful wedding of last evening was that of Miss Elizabeth Potter, daughter of Dr. and Mrs.Julius H. Potter, to Dr. Lynn Staley Beals, which took place at eight o'clock in St. Mark's Episcopal Church. The church was decorated effectively with southern smilax, white roses and other June flowers, and as the many guests were assembling a programme of music was played by a harpist, violinist, and cellist. The six ushers led the way. They were Dr. Harry Weed, Mr. Elton Beals and Mr. Julius Howard Potter, Jr., of Buffalo, Dr. Howard Prince of Byron, Mr. Walter Rogers of Providence, and Mr. Frederick Dau of New York. Next came the bride's attendants, among them some of her college mates at Vassar. They were Mrs. Frederick Dau and Miss Lillian Lynes of New York, Mrs. John Folly of Syracuse, Miss Helen Druar of Buffalo, Miss Helen Schermerhorn of Schenectady and Miss Emma Johnson of Waterville, Maine.
Last came the bride with her father. In the chancel the young women attendants formed a group, and sang the Lohengrin bridal chorus as the bride came down the aisle.
At the chancel the groom and his best man, Mr. Howard Aldenof Boston, joined the party. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. P. Hart of Rochester, assisted by the Rev. Nathan Stanton of St. Mark's Church.
The bride wore a gown of swiss messaline satin trimmed with duchesse lace. Her tulle veil was fastened with lilies of the valley, and she carried a bouquet of the same flowers. Her attendants made a lovely picture in gowns of white batiste over green silk and carrying bouquets of maidenhair fern.
A reception for the relatives and near friends followed at the home of the bride's parents in Dearborn Street. The house was decorated with quantities of flowers and the bride's table laid with covers for fifteen was decorated with bridal wreath.
Among the out-of-town guests were Mrs. Roswell Hart, Miss Mary Hart and Miss Florence Hart of Rochester; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Beals of Mount Vision, N. Y.; Mrs. Powers of Waterville, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Adams of Bedford, N. Y.
Dr. and Mrs. Beals will be at home after their wedding journey at No. 119 North Norwood Avenue.
Dr. and Mrs. Potter have been entertaining a house party of twenty-four guests for the wedding, and on Monday evening gave a dinner for the bridal party before the rehearsal. A number of entertainments have been given for Miss Potter and Dr. Beals.
