Miss Arlene Bend And Stanley Beane Take Wedding Vows

Miss Arlene Bend, 125 West Sixteenth street, Davenport, daughter of Dr. S. Chandler Bend, Cincinnati, O., was married to Stanley L. Beane, son of Mrs. Francis Beane, 1821 Sixth avenue, Moline, at 4 p. m. today in St. John's Methodist church, Davenport, with the Rev. James R. Uhlinger officiating. White chrysanthemums and lighted candelabra decorated the altar. Vocal selections were presented by Miss Mary Lois Greenwood, Dixon, Ill., and Mrs. Ben Evans was at the organ.

Mrs. William Stauffer, Rochelle, Ill., and Miss Lola Doub, Rockford, Ill., both cousins of the bride, were matron of honor and bridesmaid, respectively. Floyd Curry, Moline, served as best man, and thomas Cherrington and Paul Miller, both of Moline, acted as ushers. Dr. S. Chandler Bend, who is blind, gave his daughter in marriage.

The bride wore a white satin gown fashioned with sweetheart neckline, leg o'mutton sleeves, fitted bodice, and a full skirt which extended into a train. Her fingertip length veil of tulle fell from a coronet of seed pearls and her bouquet was of white roses.

The bride's attendants were dressed in blue gowns having taffeta bodices and net skirts. They carried bouquets of pink roses and wore tiaras of the same flowers in their hair.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church parlors, which were decorated with white chrysanthemums. Miss Joyce Peterson of the School of Chiropractic and Mrs. Allison Gibson of Davenport, formerly of Marshall, Minn., poured.

Later the couple will take a wedding trip and for traveling the bride has selected a gray suit with snakeskin accessories.

The bride was graduated from the Rochelle high school and Mr. Beane is a graduate of Moline high school. Both are attending the Palmer School of Chiropractic where they will complete training in January. Mr. Beane served in the army for two years.
