The picturesque chapel of Seattle Pacific college, where only graduates of the college are privileged to have their weddings, was the scene of impressive ceremonies Wednesday evening at which Miss Ruth Van Ness, daughter of Mrs. E. E. Van Ness and the late Rev. Dr. Van Ness of Kissimmee, Fla., became the bride of Glenn Myers Blair, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. N. Blair of Portland. The Rev. George T. Gunter of the First Presbyterian church of Everett, assisted by Dr. C. Hoyt Watson, president of the college, read the marriage lines. Flowers in shades of blue, cream, white and peach, and candelabra placed on the altar and in the windows, were used in decorating the chapel.
Preceding the ceremony and at the close of the rites, Clayton Booth of Seattle sang "O Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly," accompanied by his sister who played the "Lohrengrin" wedding march. The bride wore white satin with a short tulle veil held by white satin bands and she carried cream roses and lilies of the valley. Her cousin, Miss Ada McIntosh of Fairbanks, Alaska, was maid of honor, and Miss Lois Smith of Penawara, Miss Gladys Marsh and Miss Naomi Sill of Seattle were bridesmaids. Little Murial Bowerman, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl. Donald Blair of Seattle, was best man for his brother and William and Elmer Van Ness of Everett, brothers of the bride, and Rufus Salyer of Seattle, were ushers.
A reception at Woman's hall followed the rites. Assisting were the Misses Lois Clark, Dorothy Boyd, Marjorie Lewis, Vera Hunter, Ruth, Helen and Lois Slingerlend, Mrs. Beegle and Mrs. Leila High. Guests from out of Seattle included about 50 Everett friends, and Mr. and Mrs. Bowerman and son and daughter, Mrs. Holden and son, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Blair, Mr. and Mrs. O. N. Blair, parents of the bridegroom from Salem, Oregon.
Mr. and Mrs. Blair left on a wedding trip and will make their home for the summer, after July 15, at Woodland Arms apartments on Phinney avenue in Seattle. Mr. Blair, in addition to receiving a degree from Seattle Pacific college, was graduated from the University of Washington where he took his masters' degree. He was affiliated with Psi Chi and Phi Delta Kappa fraternities.
