Miss Butler is one of Harrisonburg's deservedly most popular young ladies, and we join her many friends in wishing her a happy and prosperous married life.

FORMER CITIZEN IS DEAD

Cousin of E. A. Shands, Passes Away in Walter Reed Hospital, Washington.

Mrs. C. B. Maddux (nee Charlotte Butler), formerly of Harrisonburg, died Sunday night at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, according to information received by relatives here.

The deceased was a cousin of E. A. Shands, of near Harrisonburg. Surviving besides the husband, is one son, Col. H. C. Maddux, U. S. A.

RITES FOR C. B. MADDUX.

Funeral Services to Be Held at Orange, Va., Tomorrow.

Funeral services for the late Clifford Bartlett Maddux, 75 years old, who died here Wednesday, will be held tomorrow at noon in the Episcopal church at Orange, Va., where Mr. Maddux lived for a number of years. Mr. Maddux was born at Alexandria, Va., the son of Martin and Margaret Virginia Bartlett Maddux.

Mr. Maddux, who has resided in Washington for the last three years, is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Maj. and Mrs. H. C. Maddux, jr., and a sister, Miss Blanche Maddux, all of Washington. A brother, Martin Maddux, of Aberdeen, S. Dak., also survives.

ORANGE, Va., Oct. 18.—Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in St. Thomas Episcopal Church for Clifford Bartlett Maddux, who died at the home of his son, Cabell Maddux, in Washington, D. C. Interment was in Graham Cemetery. Mr. Maddux is survived by the above mentioned son and one sister, Miss Blanche Maddux, of Staunton. He was well known in Orange, having made his home here for a number of years.
