One of the first of the holiday weddings was one of importance, owing to the prominence of the couple, was solemnized Tuesday evening very quietly at the bride’s home In Olathe. when Mrs. Imogene Langston became the bride of Mr Herman G. Carkhuff. son of Mrs and Mrs. J. H. Carkhuff, of this city. The Rev. Thompson, pastor of the Olathe Methodist church, officiated, and used the pretty ring service. Mrs. Carkhuff wore a very becoming gown of grey crepe de chine. After the ceremony a dainty luncheon was served. Only a few members of the immediate relatives were present.
Mr. Carkhuff is associated with his brother. W. K Carkhuff, in farming on East mesa, and he and his charming bride will go to housekeeping very soon in a pretty new home on the ranch.
Both are very well known and highly respected residents of Olathe and have hosts of friends at the county seat aa well as in their home city, who unite in wishing them continued happiness, health and prosperity.

Herman G. Carkhuff, the Republican candidate for county commissioner, was reared on a farm in central Kansas. He worked on the farm while a boy and received his common school education in the country schools and later attended and was graduated from Washburn college, at Topeka, Kansas, from which he received his degree in 1905, and at once was tendered and accepted the position of cashier for a large insurance company in Topeka, which office he filled with credit to himself.
He came to the Uncompahgre valley in 1909, where he has since made his home and during which time he has been and still is engaged in farming.
Mr. Carkhuff has made a success of his own business and, if elected county commissioner, the people may rest assured that he will give the same careful attention to the affairs of the county.
