Houston F. Carkhuff

HOUSTON F. CARKHUFF, son of HARRIET WINSLOW BLAIR and JAMES HENRY CARKHUFF, was born October 8, 1879,⁴⁵⁶ and died March 20, 1903 in Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas.^{456, 8262} He is buried in Abilene Cemetery, Dickinson County, Kansas.⁴⁵⁶

Died at School.

Huston Carkhuff, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Carkhuff living east of town, died of pneumonia Friday at the school for the blind in Kansas City, Kas., aged 23. He would have graduated this spring. His mother went to his bedside when he was taken ill. Huston was blind from childhood, the result of an accident. He was a bright and lovable boy and had a host of friends. The body was brought here today and buried in Abilene cemetery, Rev. E. R. Brown officiating.
