CAMBRIDGE—Lawrence N. Clure, 76, resident of Cambridge since 1909, died at a Council hospital Thursday morning after a long illness.
Mr. Clure was born Jan. 12, 1886, at Hasting, Minn., the son of J. F. and Mary Davis Clure. He moved with his parents to North Dakota in 1900 from Minnesota, where he lived several years before moving to Palouse, Wash.
Mr. Clure married Hazel A. Hall at Viola, Idaho, on Dec. 25, 1907. After their marriage they lived at Viola for one year and then moved to Cambridge where they homesteaded and farmed for several years.
Mr. Clure was the rural mail carrier for Cambridge for 34 years, retiring in 1953 due to ill health. He was a member of the Cambridge Baptist Church and Salubria Masonic Lodge No. 31.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel, Cambridge; three sone, Ray, Bert and Lyle Clure, all of Cambridge; two daughters, Mrs. George Scheline, Cambridge, Mrs. Orville Schmitz, Portland, Ore.; one brother, Chester Clure, Colville, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Rose Grogan, Colville, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cambridge Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Walters officiating. Interment will be in Cambridge under the direction of the Northam-Jones Chapel with services conducted by Salubria Masonic Lodge No. 31.

HAMILTON - Geraldine Scheline, 95, of Hamilton passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010 at the Discovery Care Centre. Geraldine was born Feb. 8, 1914 to Lawrence and Hazel (Hall) Clure in Cambridge, Idaho. She lived in Cambridge until 2001 when she moved to Montana to be nearer her family.
On May 25, 2929, Geraldine married George Scheline and they were married 61 years. She loved music and had her own dance band called the "Red Hot Peppers" during the '40s. Geraldine was an excellent piano player and played for the Eastern Star.
She was a 60-year member of the Eastern Star. Geraldine served as Worthy Matron when the Cambridge Chapter No. 56 was active at the Cambridge Masonic Hall. In 1988 she became a member of the Loyaute Chapter No. 19 in Weiser, Idaho.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband George; her parents; three brothers, Raymond, Bert and Lyle Clure; one sister, Vivian Schmitz; and her niece, Marlene Brandt. She is survived by her son, Donald Scheline and wife Carlene; granddaughters, Debbie Briggs and husband, Steven of Missoula and Deanna Appelbaum and husband David of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren, Samantha and Tarl Briggs of Missoula and Kyle and Keith Appelbaum of West Palm Beach, Fla.
Interment will be held in Cambridge, Idaho at a later date.
