Maude Collins Passes Yesterday Afternoon

Maude G. Collins, a former resident of Colorado Springs who has for the past year been making her home with her son in Corvallis, passed away in a local hospital yesterday afternoon following a long illness.

The daughter of Alexander and Susan Scholl Shultz, she was born December 6, 1866, at Carbondale, Ill. As a child she moved with her parents to Salina, Kan., where she was reared and educated. She was married to Oliver E. Collins on June 6, 1895 at Salina. Following their marriage the couple moved to Colorado and for many years made their home in Colorado Springs where Collins passed away in 1945. Mrs. Collins moved to California in 1948 and then in 1954 came to Corvallis to make her home with her son, A. P. Collins. She had been a life long member of the Methodist church.

Besides her son she is survived by one grandson and and one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. The remains are being forwarded by the McHenry Funeral Home to the Law Mortuary of Colorado Springs where funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14 with burial in the Evergreen cemetery there.
