She was born January 20, 1894 in Taopi, Minnehaha, South Dakota,6960 and died July 28, 1957 in Yuba County, California.250 She is buried in Sutter Cemetery, Sutter County, California.456

Ex-S.D. Resident Dies in California

John L. Coutts, 64, a former resident of Colton and Sioux Falls, died at Marysville, Calif., according to information which has been received here by his sister, Mrs. William P. Armstrong, 708S. Summit Ave.

Mr. Coutts was born at Rock Valley, Ia., May 10, 1887. The family moved to a farm northwest of Colton in 1893. He lived in that vicinity most of the time until he moved to California in 1937, except for a short period when he lived in Sioux Falls and engaged in the building business with his brother, Ed.

He was married to Aura Colton, Feb. 22, 1919, at Colton. He was a member of the First Methodist church at Marysville. Mr. and Mrs. Coutts and son, John Jr., visited in South Dakota last year. Mr. Coutts suffered a heart attack on the return trip to California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers. Survivors are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Ashley (Laila) Treat, and Mrs. Frank (Margaret) Cononica; his son, and four granddaughters, all of Marysville, and his sister in Sioux Falls.

Aura V. Coutts

Mrs. Aura V. Coutts, who was 63 years of age at the time of her death in Rideout hospital on Sunday, was buried in Sutter cemetery Wednesday afternoon following services held in the Ullrey Memorial chapel.

Mrs. Coutts, a native of Colton, S. D., and a resident of Yuba City for nearly 10 years, is survived by two daughters, a son and five grandchildren. The children are Mrs. Ashley Treat of Chico, Mrs. Frank Canonica and John W. Coutts of Yuba City. There are four sisters, Mrs. Edith Colton and Mrs. Ruth Peterson of South Dakota, Mrs. Helen Todnem of Minnesota and Mrs. Hattie Cox of Santa Barbara.

The Rev. Robert Sanford of the Marysville, Methodist church and the Rev. Howard Daulton of the First Methodist church, Yuba City, conducted the final rites. Mrs. Dean Yates was organist and soloist was Mrs. Doris Bush.
